Double Chocolate Porridge

Lately I was craving for chocolate and for something sweet but healthy. I was craving for comfort food! That’s what I came up with: a Double Chocolate Porridge. Cacao has an amazing high level of cancer fighting antioxidants, much more than most fruits and vegetables. Cacao is also very high in iron, which can be best absorpted combined with citrus fruits, like freshly squeezed orange juice. This was definititely the best porridge I ever made! Try it and judge yourself!  

Ingredients Double Chocolate Porridge

1 + ¾ cup plant milk of choice (I used a low-fat soy milk)
1 heaped tsp low-fat cacao powder
1 tbsp cacao nibs
8 tbsp oatmeal
1 tbsp full cane sugar
4 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
1 cup fresh fruits

Step 1

Combine plant milk and cacao powder and bring to the boil. Add oatmeal and simmer for 7-8 minutes, stirring once in a while. Remove from heat and add cane sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice and cacao nibs.

Step 2

Transfer to a bowl and top with fresh fruits. Enjoy!
